Final Burial Rites Of Oba Sijuwade Stalled As 'Abobaku' Of Ife Flees Town



Emerging reports indicate that the Abobaku of Ile Ife is currently on the run and this may stall the final burial rites of the Late Oba Ooni of Ife.

   In Yoruba tradition, the Abobaku is "The one who dies with the king". He is usually appointed upon a king coronation, and has to be buried with the king when he eventually dies. his job is to serve the king even in the world beyond.
